We stayed at the Ryse Hotel during a Staycation trip in Seoul, see our visual diary recorded from our stay.
The Ryse Hotel is located in the centre of the Hongdae district in Seoul. Similar to the Drawing hotel in Paris, the Ryse Hotel has its concept design centralised around art and creativity, From the “Tartine” coffeeshop located on the ground floor, to the “Side Note Club” bar at the top floor. It’s also worth noting that the Ryse is apart of the Marriott Hotel group in Korea. See our diary of the experience at the creative hotel below.
The entrance leads directly to the “Tartine” cafe on the first floor, we were kindly lead by staff to the 4th floor for check in. The cafe is fantastic by the way, a little on the pricier side, but very good treats and coffee.
Whilst at check in, we were a little earlier than the stated checkin time and our booked room was not yet ready- however we were offered a room upgrade to the Director suite for 30,000W extra per night, which is a steal compared to the standard rate for the room, so we took the upgrade and went ahead.
Our room was located on the 11th floor, first impressions of the entrance hallways, is its very slick with a dark interior. We finally got to our room, and loved the generous size along with the various furniture curated well for the interior.
The bathroom is beautifully bright and designed with ‘terrazzo’ tile, definitely our favourite part of the suite. The bathroom features a generous size shower with a deep soaking bath. and toilet with multiple bidet functions, The hotel provides all the basic necessities such as a toothbrush and also Ryse branded face masks for skincare.
The Ryse Hotel Bar: The Side Note Club
A well welcomed feature to the Ryse Hotel is the location of the Side Note Club on the top floor, a perfect spot for a night cap and a convenient point for meeting friends during your stay. The bar has a soulful ambience, with a beautiful view paired with a delicious cocktail selection. A visit is a must if you are staying at the hotel.
